What is Canine ? 

A pointed tooth between the incisors and premolars of a mammal, often greatly enlarged in carnivores. (Definition from Google)

The canines are situated at the ‘corners’ of the dental arches / mouth. They have a sharp, pointed biting surface.


Function ?

To grip and tear food.

How many ?

There are four canine teeth in both primary and permanent dentition.

When do they erupt ? 

Lower Canine: 9-10 years

Upper Canine: 11-12 years.
